Preparing your Home for a Deep Cleaning Company 06 January 2015
Preparing your Home for a Deep Cleaning Company

Every once in a while, it can be beneficial to hire a deep cleaning service company to clean your house from top to bottom, even in the areas you may not think of. As much as we may keep up a stringent domestic cleaning routine, oftentimes we don’t have enough time to get to all the hard-to-reach areas where dust and grime can accumulate. You may be a landlord wanting the house to be clean for a new tenant, or you may be moving out yourself. You may have a big party or event coming up and want your home to be spick and span for the guests. Whatever your reason, hiring a deep cleaning company can be immensely beneficial for your home. However, before the cleaning company arrive, there are still steps you need to take to ensure they can get to everywhere properly and the deep cleaning can be carried out to its full potential.TidyFirstly, tidy all personal items away in their rightful places. Toys, filing, cutlery and other bits and bobs should all be packed away, otherwise it could get in the way and hinder the deep cleaning process, and prevent the whole point of the deep clean. Make sure there aren’t any random items lying around to get in the way. If you’d prefer, lock any personal or private items away in a safe, draw or, if they’re small, keep them on you in your bag for the rest of the day.Move furnitureDepending on which cleaning service you’ve requested, you may need to cover certain items in plastic before the team arrive. This is an aspect of the process that you’ll need to check before they arrive; the more the team need to clean, the more expensive the job, so if you’re on a budget you may want them just to do the larger cleaning tasks which you can’t do yourself. The cleaning company may be carrying out a full clean, from top to bottom, in which case, you won’t need to cover anything as they’ll be cleaning it. However, if you’re hiring them for just a general clean - for example, the walls, skirting boards, ceilings and floors - you may want to cover furniture and move it away from the walls so they can behind adequately. If you’re a landlord waiting for a new tenant to move in, it’s wise to get any furniture you have in the accommodation cleaned before they move in. However, if the property is unfurnished, you won’t need to worry about this.Plan your dayIn order for the cleaning company to operate properly, it’s wise to organise a day when you’re out of the house. Depending on how long the deep cleaning process will take and how extensive you want it, you may want to take a whole day out at a theme park, or just go visit relatives for lunch. Make sure you know what you’re doing in advance so you’re not hanging around in the way of the cleaners. Greet them upon their arrival, show them around and then be ready to depart straight away. You may want to prepare a day bag and leave it by the door the night before so you’re ready to leave at the drop of the hat. Be sure you know the exact time the cleaning team are due to finish so you know when to return. The last thing a professional cleaning company needs is to be prevented from moving on to their next job because you’re not home, so double check the times and give them your phone number if they’d prefer.
